Summary: Ruth O'Conor was born in Manchester in 1919. She remember when she was 4 years old, walking from her house on Franklin Street down to the river to a place called, Franklin Beach. Her favotite thing to do as a child growing up in Manchester was to roller skate on the streets. She said that if you were really good, you could jump over a sewer lid and be "King of the Wheel".
