Summary: Susan Thompkins was born in Manchester in 1953. Her parents lived in the same house that her grandparents had purchased. She remembers walking to school in big galoshes when the Manchester Elementary school was located on Beaver Avenue. She was in the first graduating class of the new Manchester Elementary School that stands today at Manhattan and Juniata streets.
